Been a while since I've posted a set.. So might as well!

This facility opened October 15, 1986. After the first year open the track's income took a downward spiral, which got worse in 1992 after the opening of a Casino just 20 minutes away. The facility completely closed it's doors July 13th, 1996 when they fell to bankruptcy. In 1999 there was talk about using the site for stock car racing. In recent years the property has been used by a trucking company to store equipment. In 2009 the property was being looked into to be used as the companies headquarters, but it appears those plans have been curbed.

Looks pretty interesting. Here in the UK we are facing the imminent loss of the last Greyhound & stock car racing stadium in Central London as a planning application to demolish and rebuild as a football stadium (through some bullshit 'spiritual home' crap) got passed last week. Stock car racing is my other main passion in life so to see it go, although we have known it will happen for years now, is hard.

If you ever make it to Iowa for any reason, we have a killer dirt track where I live. As far as Greyhound racing seems to go around here, PETA seems to be getting their way..

Nice work! There are a few closed Greyhound tracks around Wisconsin. I've been meaning to check 'em out. Next year, hopefully.
