So I've followed the debate/construction on the Eschweiler buildings for quite a few years now, especially with the development of apartment buildings that are literally a matter of feet away from the buildings. Last time I visited them (about a year ago) a construction worker told us that they weren't being demolished.

I've recently gotten back into the groove with urbex and am looking back into the buildings, only to find out that there are plans to demolish the buildings. One of the buildings is being repurposed, and the rest will be demolished.

Also, my friend told me that his friend worked with the construction crew in the basement, and can confirm that the buildings were once commissioned as a TB sanitarium. Not sure if we've come to the general consensus on what all it has been used as in the past, but.

I had always planned on visiting that complex when I lived out that way but never ended up going. Saw some pictures of it the other week that made me wish I had. I visited it like a year ago during the day just to scope it out and they had it fenced off with their construction plans posted.
