What would you do to an abandonment?

If you found yourself with the task of turning any abandonment into whatever you wanted and had a ridiculous budget (Let's say, $500,000,000) where would you do it and what would you do with it?
I'll start.

I'd turn this abandoned power plant in Belgium into a concert hall, but keep it mostly intact.

I think you have some major acoustic issues with that shape. It would keep down noise complaints from the neighbors though.
An old, well acoustically designed cathedral might be more the ticket. Some of those incorporated passive resonance chambers too.

I would buy up entire city blocks of property, fence them off and let them rot. Then all of you could enjoy the explorations. Maybe to keep it interesting have some security guards and a few roaming dogs just so it's not too easy.

Demolish it with promises of a monument in its place, only to let it remain as an empty lot for 5-10 years.

Still waiting on that fountain.

I'd set the building up to make it look like it's an active construction site, hire a couple people at 11 dollars an hour to look like their working on it all day, but never making any progress, just to buy some time, then I'll flee the country with the rest of the money.

I would take this place http://www.basdemo...-mijlen-onder-zee/ and make it structurally safe, and reintroduce it as a haunted house. I wouldn't alter too much, maybe make it room escape style or something. Though I'd probably have $499,990,000 left, so entrance would be free for a couple of years.

Unfortunately the island is being demolished so you better give me the money quickly!

THIS!

Full historical period restoration as well, but only after I opened it to free "appointment-only" explorations for a couple of years.

It's too late for most of the places I would have done it to, but I always thought it would be cool to buy an old kirkbride (I had danvers state in mind) and make it into an asylum themed hotel. The hotel itself would all be restored, but elsewhere on the grounds I would have other things, like a historical trail around the outside with plaques and stuff, maybe a small museum. But the main event would be the theme of the hotel.

What would I do to an abandonment? ;)

Well since you asked I'd have to ~~~~~~~~Redacted~~~~~~~~ before I'd Redacted the Redacted right in the Redacted. Then I'd bend it over and Oh god, this is so redacted. Paint wouldn't be the only thing peeling as This is horribly NSFW people and I'd pull out as Holy shit is this even legal?.

There's my answer

Thank you for the links! I never was aware of this mansion or it's fascinating history. It's link to the Titanic illustrates the far reaching consequences of her sinking. Sad this piece of history is already all but lost.

Spiders!? As in, an exhibit of spiders, or just turn the actual building into a bunch of spiders?
