Recently got back from a death valley trip to go visit some more abandoned mines. First day visited with the Underground 2015 event, and then the second day went into death valley to explore a different mine. Below are some photos from the mines. Sorry about the quality...I'll get a real camera someday =D

First mine was with the underground explorers at underground 2015 near Tecopa.

And one of death valley. It has rained recently so bad water actually had a decent amount of water in it. Kind of interesting

Nice shots! I was there too. I recognize that first mine. We did the through trip in it but I've been in it once before. Did you climb the rails in #1? I remember we did that on my first trip. Can't remember if we were going up or down though.

Oh neat for the whole weekend? We unfortunately did not. It was already late and some of our group wanted to head back so we ended up going back with them. I definitely need to go back didn't explore nearly enough of the mine

Yeah, we actually got there thursday and were some of the last to leave sunday night. I think we ended up going in around 5 mines total. They're so enormous though, it's impossible to explore them thoroughly in that amount of time.

Where do i sign up for the underground 2016?
Looks like an awesome time. I would probably be too overwhelmed by what I'm seeing, that i would forget to take pics.

This year it was on facebook. Follow underground explorers on there and you'll hear all about any upcoming events

I like facebook. Helps me keep in contact with people who I don't see everyday. Plus I follow a bunch of photography pages that post interesting articles and awesome photos.

As far as I know they're planning on doing it around the same time next year but nothing is set in stone yet. If you don't want to join facebook, you could just keep up with their website, they did announce Underground 2015 there: http://undergroundexplorers.com/ maybe they'll mention Underground 2016 when they're ready. Keep in mind though it's a bit of a courtesy to rsvp on facebook because it helps them know how many people to expect and helps them plan a little better.

I had planned on being there this year but things got in the way and couldn't make it. A blown truck engine will do that... Hopefully next year!!

Looks like you had a really good time. When I saw the first photo I thought, "Hey, I've been down those rails." What a pain climbing up the incline from the bottom. I've been there a bunch of times and always find something new to see and explore.
