keep doing what you're doing.

maybe try to balance some of them out so the horizon is more level, but other than that, these are great!

Straighten it up a bit and #3 is a super hero.

Personal preference, but I HATE the feet thing. It's right up there with selective coloring for me. I agree with whoever said you should straighten up your pictures. You should also work on the values a bit. You've got a lot of blown out highlights and 6 seems too dark. You might want to consider trying bracketed shots. 2 is my personal favorite. Welcome aboard!

I agree with everyone who said to straighten the pictures. It would definitely help! Now for the highlights, I can't seem to get the highlight not get blown out. I don't know what I am doing wrong. For most pictures I am using 30 sec shutter with 100 ISO. Also for the 6th one, I agree that it is too dark but that's my fault for not shooting in raw. Thanks for the comments!!

Whether or not you're shooting raw shouldn't affect the exposure. It's not too dark because you didn't shoot raw, it's too dark because it's underexposed. Like I mentioned earlier, as far as the blown out highlights go, try doing a bracketed exposure. I think when I checked the exif on these you were using a nikon dslr. There should be a setting for bracketing, otherwise you can do it manually. Basically you Check your exposure meter and take one photo that's exposed properly based on that reading, one that's over exposed, and one that's underexposed and then edit them together in post (lightroom has an easy automatic way to do it if you use that program). That way you get good values for shadows, mid-tones, and highlights.

Exactly what DP said directly above me. RAW is a file type, it has nothing to do with anything else. RAW is also the best route to take. It saves so much more information so you're able to 'fix' mistakes in post-processing...getting it right in camera is ideal, first and foremost.

The funny thing about 1 is that since the colours are all the same and there's not much below, it doesn't look all that impressive. You could just be sitting on a slightly uniquely shaped park bench.

I enjoy 2 and have a picture that probably looks almost exactly the same somewhere. A slight tweak to make it even would help. \

4 is not bad and conveys a familiar scene to the point of almost being an archetypal alley.

5 is a better attempt than 1, but yeah, the whole next-level lookdown thing is aged now.

Nice job on these photos! However I agree with some of the other comments: straighten the horizon on them! And #4 is quite over-exposed in some parts of the photo. If that was on purpose, then that's fine. Otherwise try to not have any part of the photo overexposed, because you can always brighten up the shadows in an editing program, but you can't undo the overexposure.

Great photos. I'm going to second (third, fourth, whatever) straightening the photos, lines are sort of a pet peeve of mine. My own critique would be that they seem to me clearly edited, almost surreal; I think it might be because lots of your photos have very little "dark" spots, and a lot of highlights & overexposed bits, lending them an almost HDR quality which isn't necessarily something I appreciate (it might also be that my computer brightness is all the way up). Otherwise, great shots! Straighten these up and they're winners. #7 is my personal favorite.
