Well... 2nd attempt at the reactors...

Somehow we went from Portland to Washingtons south coast to scout out some sites. It was a lot of driving for 20 hours. Didn't really get in any good work, but managed to slip the security enough to get to one of these reactors. Entry in to it was pretty well secured, so it was more of a superficial explore. There were some red flags that told me we shouldn't go any farther since the last time we were there security followed us damn near back into town. I may just keep poking at this one whenever I'm back that way. But this is where Im at currently with this one... The reactors have never been in use.

Not active, except the tower with water in it, which is being used to cool a nearby gas fired power plant. this one was built out I'd say 75-80%, then they ran out of funding. the inside of the containment dome is pretty damn cool, used to be that there was an extremely friendly caretaker that let us have free reign of the place "so long as we didn't hurt ourselves" so a large group of us have been to the top of the active cooling tower and all over the containment dome.

my advice, see about getting permission as the inside of the containment dome is about 300% cooler with the lights on, significantly safer as well.

Whoa... Permission? I'll have to try that. I never thought of that. Haha

Thanks for the info. My post was somewhat in jest. I know this place. I've never been as its on the opposite side of the country from me.

I've heard as well that there is access if you ask for it. I've just been too lazy to make an effort to pursue it.
