This foundry, constructed in 1840, designed the world's first refrigeration system in 1880 which made long-distance transportation of chilled and frozen foods a reality and was truly groundbreaking. Now it sits as an empty shell of it's former self, abandoned since the early 00s. A housing development was planned for the land back in 2008 but there was a little snafu with the economy which put that plan to bed.

Me and my friend ventured inside in pouring rain, the sound of the rain hitting the roof was truly awesome. You may be able to tell from the first few photos I absolutely loved the line of arched windows which ran the length of one side of the building.

The mural on #8 is unique.
Too bad it wasn't done at a more viewable location.
