| | | Last night was rough. We were visiting the Navistar facility in Indy, looking to take some pictures and check around, usual UE things. We got in without a hitch through a hole in the fence and soon are in the building taking pictures. Everything's going to plan when one of my friends sees a car drive by outside. I look and see that it's a police cruiser. This is obviously bad news, but we figure it's probably just a patrol and that the best course of action is to try and wait it out inside the building. About a minute passes when a flashlight paints the machines a few yards behind us. We run. At this point we figure it's one guy, still just a security patrol that found out we were in there. We figure, he's in here, so we should take this chance and get out while he's away from his car. We take a side exit, ditch our dust masks and get ready to run. We get about 5 feet from the side of the building when we're surrounded by four police cruisers. We drop our packs and camera's, deciding that we're probably not getting away at this point. We start talking to the officers, and slowly my cars start showing up. Eventually there are 9 police cars around us, and a K-9 unit gets lead out the building. One of the officers points out a helicopter circling above to be a police helicopter. I always figured that if I got caught I'd be able to get off with just a warning. I have a nice camera, just taking pictures. I pass a personal search. I talk politely to the cop, tell him that we entered without damaging anything. We weren't stealing or vandalizing. It was the moment the officer pointed out the circling police helicopter that I decided that such tactics probably wouldn't help. We had drawn far too many resources to get off with just a warning. About an hour later we're in the back of police van, cuffed, heading for juvenile. At this point, I don't know if the charges will be dropped. The officers told my parents they might be. Either way, those kinds of risky explorations on major sights are off the table for me now. Long story short: Friday the 13th did me incredibly dirty. Don't visit Navistar. Explore carefully, because, as you all know, it would've been way worse for me if I were 18. I'll be around.

| The longer I wait? As in wait in the building before heading out? or am I missing something Posted by kenfagerdotcom Do keep us posted on any additional developments.
| Will do. For right now, there have been no additional parental punishments. Chill parents said they know I learned my lesson and so any grounding would just be punishment for the sake of punishment, and that's pointless. I have, however, been helping out around the house an unusual amount because I know they passed up on, out of the goodness of there heart, a fantastic opportunity to destroy my social life. We're waiting on word from the legal system. I'll keep ya'll informed.
