Heading back from a trip to Scotland, first after the overnight stop back in the far north of England and a slightly underwhelming breakfast me and my companions hit a site I had wanted to see for some time but due to it's distance away had never gotten the chance to factor into a trip.

OK it may not be anywhere near as grand or as large as it's well known and often-explored 'sister' seminary further south but it is still quite impressive. Sadly the beautiful chapel has been comprehensively sealed from the inside by a massive steel plate but other than that it's a nice peaceful explore with some friendly security horses keeping watch :p

Around a third of the site closed a long time ago, with the remaining seminary buildings being used until 2011 when they were taken over by a nearby affiliated university's business school. The long-neglected empty parts are rapidly decaying with many holes in the roofs and some very dodgy floors. I nearly took a quick trip through one here, I watched my step a little more carefully after that...

Wonderfully moody in the first two and last shot! But great work all around.

Amazing set! I'm really convinced that there there isn't actually civilization in the U.K. anymore based on how many amazing locations you find!

1 and 2 were just WOW! How does he find these places i asked myself. Pic 8 and 9. Love the dark, dirty stairwell and the passage with the green door. Any clues on 12.!?! Love the contrast between light and dark in 13. What a cool place to explore.

Really cool looking place and you got some great shots! In particular I like all the exterior shots, especially the last one with the horses. We just don't have buildings with this sort of medieval castle type architecture here in the states.
