This place was the biggest surprise of my trip, far exceeding my expectations. It's weird how half the site is heavily decayed but the other half looks as if it was vacated yesterday, it's location on a busy road and on a live golf course has helped it remain very intact.

Once we had negotiated the golf course and avoided the golfists wasting a lovely late afternoon we were in. I had just about got to the end of the buildings when my cameras batteries ran flat, luckily the only major thing I missed getting photos of was the outdoor swimming pool.

The country club contained a large bowling alley, pool table room, dance hall and a huge theatre/sports hall with one of the largest stages I have personally ever seen, as well as the outdoor pool and a beautiful wood-panelled private office section at the front.

I love it, it rarely leaves my side. Just a shame by this time my lightweight travelling tripod was misbehaving

Canon 550D with a Sigma 10-20mm wide angle, or if I'm feeling arty a Sigma 30mm f1.4 prime. I've had the Canon for over four years now and it's never put a foot wrong.

Very cool place man. Golf courses surprisingly hold some cool spots. I went to an awesome mansion a few times last year that was right between holes on a course. After we got in the first time without cameras, we dressed up in nice clothes and parked right in the lot for the country club. Strolled right onto the course, waving at the passing golfers and nobody batted an eye. There is also a hospital near the mansion which sits adjacent to a golf course as well. Oh, and some of those catskill resorts had their own golf courses too. I need to take a better look at some of the ones near me...

Wooooow! Looking at the first photo, I did NOT expect the rest of the set!!! This place is incredible, and looks to be untouched by taggers, what a gem! Great job with these photos, you really did the place justice.

Thanks for the comments everyone, it was definitely a highlight of my trip - and an unexpected one at that. It's always fun having to avoid golfers, we were strolling to the route you have to take to access the building which is right beside one of the holes, and got ambushed by a golfist and his kid standing right beside where we needed to be playing their game, so we scarpered down a hill and pretended to examine some intricate spiderwebs and rabbit holes very closely!

I could spend so long documenting the ruins of the Catskill resorts I would never leave.
