I finally got a glimpse of a local iconic abandonment. So much to see, I need to go back (with a tripod) and get better shots.

5. Six-story freight elevator

6.

7.

8.

9.

10. Charta filtratoria acido hydrochlorico et flourico extracta. Circular filter paper, circa 1930.

11.

12.

13. Art deco

14. Something from Victor Frankenstein's laboratory?

15.

16.

17.

18. At least they updated their work instructions every decade

19. Work instructions from 1964

20.

21.

22. Cool machine, no idea what it did

23.

24.

25. Lots of Form 10094's scattered about from 1961.

26.

27.

28. I'm sure Scott didn't deserve this

29.

30.

31. The first of the buildings were erected around 1902

32. Industry relied heavily on railways

Your fave is my fave too! I don't think you could of gotten better shots on some of these even with a tripod... like, 31 and 32. Great hallway shot with cedar or knotty pine. Pic 16 out of the window is awesome. Love the Elevator.

I'm still doing stupid shit, like forgetting to change my ISO when going inside from the outside. Hell, one shot I completely screwed up because I forgot to put the lens back in AF mode after manually focusing a dark shot. But thank you for the kind words.

Great set! This has been my "Home base" for the last decade. By far the best aspects are the handfull of steam tunnels that interconnect all the buildings. Or the awesome power house, which doesnt look like you made it too.

Love these photos!! Great job capturing what's left. Would have been interesting to see the place when it still had furniture inside.

Looks like an incredible location! I agree with your favorite, the draping of that curtain and the light and the color all work together perfectly. Great shots all around but that one is just a little above the rest for me. Nice work!

Steam tunnels? I was there a couple of weeks ago and looked for something like that. Couldn't find anything of the like.

Also, great photos. You captured this place WAY better than I did.

You didnt look hard enough. There are like 6 different large steam tunnels connecting every building on the campus. Even the little guard shack on the far south west corner was connected by steam tunnel at one point. But that has since been blocked up. But thats literally the only tunnel thats been blocked. All others are still in place, and accessible. Some do need waders though.

Is that an open pit of hydrochloric acid? seems like a little bit of a safety hazard.

That explains the cramps. I thought is was because I didn't wait 20 minutes after eating lunch before taking a dip.

Actually, it's empty. Crazy to think it was used at one point.

That and wouldn't rain, leaves and other crud get into your acid bath. I suppose it was for used acid.

Theres quite a bit of graffiti actually. Its just such a large place, its spread out.

The place used to be packed with weird cool shit, but in the last 2 years, they have cleaned out most of the place.
