Bought a bunch of used Nikon film lenses to use on my new digital SLR. Results have been good so far. Nikon 70-210mm, Tamron 24-70mm, Rokinon 28mm, Sigma 24-50mm. Two of these were taken with the first UWA lens I have owned, Tokina 11-16 II. Used peoples Sigma 10-20mm in previous years, hated it and after using the Tokina it definitely blows the Sigma out of the water.

Great Set! That Tokina is no joke, held on to one for as long as I could

Nice shots! Old lenses can be awesome. I've got a bunch of them and use them all the time, but I swear, I use my Tokina 11-16 more than anything else.

Excellent work, as always. Nice to hear about that Tokina, I should look into acquiring one. Sometimes my 20mm just isn't wide enough.

#1 & #6 were with the Tokina 11-16.

Thank you. I prefer older lenses for a few reasons- They're cheap, they have good manual focus rings (I HATE autofocus) and manual aperture rings. You can't beat the metal build quality and durability. Also, I believe the optical quality of these lenses are superior to the majority of decent and relatively high end modern lenses. Final reason for me is that since I shoot lots of film, I can use all the same lenses on my Nikon dSLR and Nikon 35mm SLR.

The 11-16 is the only post 1998 lens I own. I needed it for business stuff and it's been really good in the couple times I have used it. I don't particularly like to shoot wide angle for abandoned stuff anymore as I just feel it's too wide. The edge to edge sharpness and minimal distortion on the 11-16 is amazing though.

I am really digging this set! The contrast between the well kept, almost not even abandoned looking buildings in 2-4 and the boarded up overgrown buildings in 5-8 is awesome! #6 is by far my favorite, I just love the looks of this building combined with the extreme overgrowth. Also I spy a smoke stack in the background. very cool shot!!
