Went on an explore this weekend to a pretty popular textile factory in Rockford. The way in not only took us an hour and a half to find, but it was a serious test of my fear of heights and small ledges.
The compound is massive, and incredibly creepy at night. Built in 1907.

This picture kind of freaked me out a bit when I saw it. I guess a dust particle had lined itself up with the bottom of the elevator shaft as i took the picture. Looks kinda like blood:

This elevator was stopped halfway. It's almost like they cut the power as the elevator was moving. Kinda cool:

All in all, Rockford is a great place. Kind of wish the Amerock Building wasn't being renovated, or we would have hit that up too.
