I started a new thread to address some of the issues raised in this and a similar thread:

http://www.uer.ca/...=1&threadid=120251

Although honestly it's taken all I have to not go off on a tear here...

Completely forgot about the meet and greet guys sorry. I fell off my longboard about a month and a half ago and ended up with a 4 or 5 inch crack in the back of my skull after a short 5 day stint in the hospital I was back home but am still unable to drink for another few months while my brain is healing as the doctors say it can easily result in seizures among other things I'm sure. This has resulted in me focusing a lot of my time and energy into photography and becoming some what of a hermit and spending a lot more time scouting out locations. Was planning on coming to the meet and greet just to show my face despite my inability to consume alcohol, which I'm sure you will come to learn is an activity I greatly enjoy. Wish I had been there, also though I think I checked the RSVP thing anom posted and he was the only one going? This was as of Wednesday I believe is this just one of those things no one actually uses or did everyone RSVP on Thursday?

Alcohol and skateboards are bad mm'kay

Welp, 4 of us ended up showing up...which made it pretty successful. We're pretty good at communication, so we all just kind of talk to each other and decided to go. It was great. Also, drinking isn't necessary...tiffers doesn't drink and she was there.

These words were inspired by a kind, well meaning, unnamed individual of this forum whom I thank for their support throughout this endeavor this past week.

The anger towards this community stems from my preconceived notion as a long time lurker that many of the higher ups on this forum are combative, argumentative, know-it-alls. This is not a made up fact I knew how many of you acted towards newcomers before I ever even posted and have even found some of the users instagrams and reddit accounts through cross referenced photos or names.(This could be viewed as threatening but that isn't what I intended.) You call me a know-it-all simply because I came here with open eyes and didn't sugar coat my feelings. I made a simple post. I didn't ask for locations knowing how everyone felt about that. I didn't post hey i'm going to the @band0n3d 8r3w3ry in G@lv3st0n on ??rd street #googlekeywords #urbex. (see what I did there? your welcome.) And how was I greeted? By a veteran of the forum I might add, who should be more of a model and I would expect to be nice among the hazing new full members rather than the backwards environment you currently have.

It also angers me when I go into a location and see the tags with obvious relations to the usernames of members of this forum, not because I have a problem at all with painting, but because it's so clear to me that this community isn't even what these moderators as I would refer to them make it out to be. In addition, that these people got away with something I couldn't. I had to work hard to find some of my places and I make up that it was given to them on a silver platter from your database.

I don't wish to argue or preach to anyone about these matters, least of all any of you. I simply wish to be accepted and not given a hard time. You ask me to lighten up and maybe I'm stubborn but I simply will not conform to what this forum wishes me to act like when it is so blatantly obvious that many of the full members are in fact not who they pretend to be on these pages.

Anyone can find plenty of locations through a simple google search, surely enough to post photos to this site and gain entry to your clearly undermined societies precious database.

I will not show you anything but the real me and if worst comes to worst I will simply be back at square one on google earth combing through the streets.

Don't mistake what I have said here to mean that I don't think any of the people on this site should not have access to this site.

I apologize seeing as how I most likely forced this conversation out of anger from my original well thought out to me post that I didn't think broke any of your rules being met with immediate disapproval, and newly full members warnings.

Then perhaps this forum isn't a place for you?

Well, I guess since I am one of the combative and argumentative higher ups, I suppose I feel that call to action.

In the first couple of posts in the thread, I was about ready to jump in and defend you. Then I got to the above quote. Here are my heartfelt combative thoughts.

First, you say that you are a "long time lurker". You joined 2 months ago, wow, what a long time that is.

"The anger towards this community" stems from 2 months of lurking? Ok, that's absolutely your right

We welcome all, but if you are going to come in and spend so much time creating paragraph upon paragraph telling us how bad we are, then I would suggest this may not be the place for you. UER has been around for a long time. Longer than 2 months, just sayin'.

If you want to be a member then that's great. But you will have to adapt to the culture of this community, or else you will likely never be embraced.

Btw, you don't have to write back. I'm actually not looking for a combative argument with you.

Damnit Rat! I don't think you know what you have done here by reviving a dead post from this narcissistic sociopath. I highly suspect we will soon be seeing another of this nut cases rambling and incoherent posts trying to justify his opinion with leaps of logic that only opium addicts and schizophrenics can follow. Thanks man!

I meant lurker to mean that I came to the site and read the posts and looked at pictures without making an account not sure if that's what it actually means now that I think about it. But I've been looking at the site for maybe 8 months now ( I realize that's still a small amount of time in the grand scheme of this website) it was just 6 months before I ended up with a combination of something that made me want to try and be a part of the community. Getting into photography, visiting all the easy to find ones, then getting tired of actually looking for them the hard way, and ending up wanting to join I guess.

Looking for things the hard way = exploring

Waiting for someone else to find stuff & tell you where to go = tourism

Hahaha honestly I can't argue with that statement 2xplore, but I would say that me getting into this happened by chance when a friend of mine asked me to show him parking garages that might be good for downtown Houston photography shots (I've have been to most of them through longboarding) which led to us finding a building and exploring it and I loved it, and if it wasn't for the easy to find "tourist attractions" if you will that I could easily find on the net it probably would've stopped there but Google quickly got me some new buildings before hitting a road block of sorts and this is one resource I've checked pretty consistently ever since. Kind of made me laugh though, is it really exploring if I only look on google earth?

If you are into the longboarding scene, you might very well know Implausible then. Active explorer, hardcore longboarder.

I hate to give you ANY attention whatsoever but your leaps of incoherent logic make my brain want to explode. Let me just lay out what you said above in bullet points.

. You agree that easy sites are "urban tourism"
. You were with a friend, found a building, explored and liked it.
. You toured easy to find buildings you found on the net.
. You "lurked" here for 8 months (previous post) to get new sites to explore.
. You ask the question: "is it really exploring if I only look on google earth?"

From what you've laid out, it seems to me that the only REAL exploring you've done is the initial site you and your friend stumbled upon!

Your above post completely proves 2X's point! To date you've shown NO proof that you've been anywhere other than your computer. Where's the photos? Where's the details of you having been anywhere other than places you've essentially stolen from other peoples hard work.

What you have just admitted is that you are intellectually no better than Seph Lawless. Hell - at least in his shameless self-promotion he provides proof he was actually in a building!

Some of my photos

I in no way tried to discredit 2xplore's point, the only time I really explore in the sense that you mean is when I just get a camera and walk around downtown Houston and one time Dallas on a weekend trip, but as far as finding bandos yes I typically look on google earth and get addresses to check out, some of which I find are impossible to get into but to me it's better than wondering aimlessly using gas (I thought about heckling you about wasting finite resources here but whatever it's not fun anymore QQ harder I honestly just don't want to spend money on gas)

I'm actually almost certain I know of this explorer/long boarder I haven't met him but if his IG is godlesstitan or his reddit handle is distanceskater then I know who you are referring to.
