Ninja just touched on boats in his book but I've never explored one (mainly because I dont have a boat to get to the boat) but I know there's a cool one people go to off of Galveston. Thought you guys in the Mid-Atlantic might find this interesting:

Thanks for posting this. Read it originally but for some reason didn't get curious enough to look for some pix until now.

Pics of said boat? If it's the one I'm thinking of, it's not very good...

My first thought was the SS Selma as well thinking hmm I wouldn't set foot on a concrete ship that has been sitting in the ocean for ?? years. But upon further inspection he might not be referring to the SS Selma, the links are talking about boats that people have just left abandoned, some underwater and others just seemingly floating at anchor? Not really sure but they might be referring to the abandoned floating boats to explore. Did a quick google search though looking for sunken ships off the coast of Texas and apparently there is a historically important German U-boat, the only one of it's kind that we sunk.

Link for those interested

While I am not one to scuba dive I do see the appeal, but that being said I think they are talking about photographing still floating abandoned citizen owned sailboats and such rather than that of the half sunken naval variety. Could be wrong though. Conclusion, either PU wants to scuba dive or just read the article about Charleston having an excess of abandoned boats and decided to share.

The answer is 93 years. It's been there for 93 years. She was laid there in 1922.

I've been on her before. She's unstable but not entirely unsafe if you aren't a moron, but I wouldn't recommend getting on her...because if you're caught on her then I believe the find is a helluva debt. She's been deemed an artificial reef at this point, and fucking with those asks for trouble.

You can find pics I took of her here.

As far as the OP goes...pretty sure we're talking abandoned pleasure vessels. There's a few I can think of in Galveston, but they're not worth talking about more than a "Hmm, yeah it's there. Meh"

I went to Charleston South Carolina to look at a whole bunch of old sailboats left to rot in several rivers with a friend who had took an interest in sailing. Ended up going to an abandoned naval hospital but it was still a fun trip. Not sure about these boats though.

My friend manhandled me up a roof once.
