An amazing place:
1.
This is an Indiana schoolhouse, one I have been wanted to get into for a few weeks now. A few days ago I finally did, and with no better tour guide than a student who had actually attended this school when it was in its prime, around 7 years ago.

Several displays still hung on the wall of this old elementary school, the first was outside one of the old third grade rooms and the second was near the original main entrance of the school. This entrance was sealed over with concrete after the school shut down.
As we continued to tour the halls, our ever informative tour guide told us who all the teachers were in the various rooms. We walked through the room he got his first detention in, and made a stop in a bathroom he used to clog the toilets in.
Upon entering one of the classrooms on the 3rd floor, we met this kind character, who I recognized for some reason. Our tour guide says he doesn't remember a statue like this ever being in the school, but it can be presumed that he probably once stood guard at the lunch lines.
The old stairways:
As we headed into the basement, we found out where all of the mess of the upper levels had been moved to. Every room down here, where there were once classes full of kindergartners and first-graders, was full of boxes, gym lockers, desks, chairs, and more boxes. We found all kinds of odd things in these boxes, from old pokemon cards to silvery elephant paper weights.
An old mural was still visible outside of what once was the gymnasium. It's colors were surprisingly bright and eery.
The gymnasium:
The floor here was partially torn up and revealed a crawl space below that none of us wanted to brave, especially after our tour guide told us about a time he heard a scary noise in the locker rooms under which the crawl space sat.
Home of the Blackhawks:
This location was amazing. I know our tour guide quite enjoyed the visit, and I'm sure it was incredibly surreal for him, seeing all of the halls he once walked vacant and dirty.
I apologize for my iPhone pictures. It was a night visit too, which made capturing the scenes even more annoying. This was definitely one of my favorite places, but I have plenty more to share!
Thanks for reading.
