Custom map website

Ok, this might be a completely stupid question, so don't flame me too bad. Is there a tool that will allow me to mark points/pins with descriptions and save the map for future reference/updates?

Preferably, I'd like to be able to:

1) create a private, password-protected account
2) save personal maps with pins (marked private and not publicly viewable)
3) add/update pins to specific lat/long coords (not just street address)
4) use multi-colored pins to mark visited vs. to-be-visited locations
5) have easy access (aka an app) via mobile device as well as desktop computer

I'm not a full member here yet, so perhaps this site has such a tool in the UE DB, DB Map, or My DB section. I've found a couple websites that add to the Google Maps API, but they either make my custom map publicly searchable or only support street address locations.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Google Maps used to be my go-to.

They "upgraded" it a year or so back and it sucks pretty hard, now, but it does still work...

What I do is I use google docs to make a spread sheet of addresses and locations, which is private. Then I use mapalist.com which uses that spreadsheet, plugs in the locations and maps them out. Then you can choose a map that has little individual markers and key for each spot. Then from there you can just do a preview map so it's not saved anywhere on the internets or you can save it to the little account it makes you make. Then from there I maintain a little list in my phone breaking down each part of town, addresses and names for the places. I'll make little notes for places whether or not it was a success or somewhere to revisit later.

Google's My Maps. I use this for a large map spanning most of the U.S. that is shared privately with other explorer friends.

I really hated it when they brought the new version out. However I run it permanently in 'Lite Mode' which is pretty close to the old version.

So far I have used google earth for planning, mapping, and briefing my crew, and it works amazingly. I even used the mobile app to find an alternate exit when pinned down by some cops once. Highly recommended.

I guess I'm old school. I use google maps, find the location then clear the URL and paste the addy in. A quick screen shot and save it to the right folder. When I need it to go I just print it out and it already has the addy, etc added...

Maverick (on android at least). Easy to use, doesnt share & good zoom level. Accuracy is pretty good too so long as you zoom in on your target. You can also punch in lat/long if you know it or copy & paste it

RE: Google Maps:

1) Nothing is stopping you from creating multiple Google accounts; tho I've read of more discrete ways to do this (on a graffiti site, interestingly).
2) You get sharability options in Google Maps. You can opt for full privacy.
3) AFAIK coordinates are searchable, just like street addresses. There is some difference in functionality between a display-only map and a created map. For one thing, you can't use street-view on a created map.
4) You can edit the colors of pins at a later time. You can also use shapes other than pins; but you can't control the colors of these shapes.
5) No mobile app access that I know of (I guess Google Drive doesn't count).

There is no such tool on UER in the places you mentioned, nor anywhere else. However, Dark_Aaron is developing a mobile app.

If you use google earth and export a kml/kmz, you can import them into google maps easily if you have an account and make them private, shareable, etc.

I used to do that back in the day when I cared about trying to share maps a lot. Eventually I just started sending screenshots rather than maps, because thats hella easier.

Correction, it's more of a web application meant to be ran locally (ideally on a laptop, but could be ran on a server.) Although a mobile web interface is in the works.
