Only $799 until 8/23 or sold out.

Usually $999 everywhere else.
Woot is reputable, I buy from them often.

Nice lens. If you search Amazon for Canon DSLR Bundle you can get some good deals. I bought a Nikon D750 bundle from Als Variety in Brooklyn (yes I know it wasnt a US model) for about 2 grand. Every camera place I went to said that they couldnt even come close to the price (The 70-300 lense and camera were 2 grand alone!). Similar deals are there for other manufacturers but do your research on what you want, what you will want to do in the future and whats your budget. Take some time and look around. Local camera shops, pawn shops and even Ebay have great deals on good used equipment.

I see white box (removed from a kit) versions of this lens for under $650 all the time, however this is probably Canon's worst "L" lens.

At full retail price, the new Sigma Art 24-105 beats the Canon 24-105 f/4 L all day long. But comparing the Canon's white box price of say $615 vs. the Sigma's $900 price tag, it's a wash.

I like the zoom range on a full frame body. It makes for a very versatile one-lens walk around setup on full frame sensors. I just wish the image quality lived up to the "L" class reputation.

+1 for Woot. A guy I worked with bought from them regularly.

Thats a pretty good deal for that lens.

When I bought a 5DmkIII bundle a couple years ago, my plan was to sell the lens and get another 'walk around' lens. Of course I got it and start shooting a few sample pics... I'm EXTREMELY impressed with my copy of the 24-105 that I kept it and use it as one of my top 3 lenses. They must be just so mass-produced that there are good and bad copies out there, but I really love the lens.

But for OP, you can find these lenses on photography forums for cheaper than you found. They're all over the place.
