I'm pretty sure that security doesn't keep tabs on UER. They probably patrol the grounds regularly and look for new places that have been obviously used to get into the place, like a giant metal bag hanging off a hill, or a short flight of stairs, or a giant stack of lumber. I highly doubt that me posting stuff is the reason that POEs are getting locked up.

I respectfully have to disagree with this. They do as does Law enforcement. Humans are really lazy to say the least, and they love the intardnet.

Even if law enforcement doesnt troll the site looking for locations the fact that people post here can (and its my understanding have) use the photos as evidence in prosecution. This discussion is getting a bit tedious. There are rules here that we all agreed to when we signed up. One of those rules is to not post locations publically and the other is to not post POE's.

These rules are taken seriously and wether you agree with them or not is irrelevant. Follow the rules, post often, meet with other members and show you're trustworthy then you'll get full membership. If you cant/wont do this then get the fuck off the site or be satisfied with basic membership.

suadensky95, I appreciate your desire to be granted full membership here, because it's a nice thing to have. However, I'm pretty sure that no one has been granted it by whining and suggesting that perhaps their account should be closed if they don't get their way. Be patient, contribute in a positive fashion, maybe even go to meets if there are any in your general area, or even start one, as you claim to know of a number of good locations that aren't currently in the database. THOSE things will definitely get you a full membership.

I know enough LEOs in my area (city and county) to feel confident saying cops aren't trolling forums like this. Unless you're stealing or vandalizing, cops have plenty of real crimes to solve.

I think Shawn W probably said it best.

As for cops "trolling" the Internetz yes they do and yes they solve "real crimes" that way too. I had a friend / co-worker who was a former suburbian cop, his last assignment was the "cyber crime" unit, and they weren't just looking for Nigerian scammers and credit card fraud, they solved the celebrated case in a Dallas suburb involving the so called "H0ly L_and f0undation" got six indictments and six convictions, do they look for little teeny bopper taggers and amateur photographers? Not so much.

Still, I feel its a good practice not to post stuff on the WWW that you wouldnt want the city or county attorney to blow up 100 times life size and post up on the display screen for the jury to see.

I also wear a helmet when I ride, keep my 1911 on safe when I carry, and avoid eating at questionable Chinese restaurants but that just me I reckon.

You know, I have been here a couple of years and at one time I thought full membership was something that I needed. Then, as time went on and I met other people, LOW AND BEHOLD, they shared with my locations I could not see because I was not a full member!

Wow, I got off my ass and went out there with other explorers and was still able to explore those 'secretive and full member' locations.

In other words, you don't need the full membership. Simple as that. If other explorers trust you, you will see all they have to offer anyway. And what makes anyone think that everything is even listed in the database? We all know there are gems that will never make the database.

Finally, from what I understand, as a full member, you access to the OTHER forum part of this site which contains A LOT MORE DRAMA than anyone creates in the regular forums.

Full membership is a badge, some say earned, some say given to those who know people and some for the work you display. And I believe that is all true, earn trust and be damned for full membership, it is really not needed to enjoy exploring. Just a will and a desire.

Just celebrated the birth of my third girl, an exploration all in its self.

I'm still new here so maybe I'm missing something, but here are my thoughts. I found UER while looking up a few things about UE which I was doing long before it had a name. I enjoy reading other people's experiences, stories, and tips on safety, security, etc. I also enjoy seeing people's photos. While I realize that full membership would be nice to have and has benefits, that is not my reason for being here. I am here to learn a few new tips, laugh at a few stories that sound really familiar to my own, and to just enjoy sharing the company of like minded individuals. Maybe soon I will post more of my own stuff and maybe one day I will be a full member, but I certainly don't lose sleep over it.

Just my 2 cents, but also to say thanks to everyone who posts - I enjoy your stories and photos!

Txphotog and others Full Membership is worth acquiring, but its not the Skull and Bones society good ol boy country club. You get to add locations to the UEDB (as long as its not already in there) or add photo galleries to it if it is already in there, you can make a thread private in other words only full members can see it this is to prevent the random googoogoogler from finding the location posted with its real name and point of entry by some thoughtless member.

Don't give up. Contribute to the forums and discussions avoid being a whiney baby (not you that other guy) Meet up if geographically feasible, make friends get endorsements the flip side is theres folks here longer than me that never even applied for full member so each to his own.

The whole full membership thing, first of all, as I've told you, is NOT as big of a deal as you think it is

It's true. I thought I would at least get a gift bag or something.

Seriously guys!!!! If it's not such a big deal make everybody a full member then. It's a big deal to me. Even if the database or other forums are not exciting to me the badge is a huge deal to me.

I'm curious. If full membership is such a big deal to you, why make what can be interpreted as negative remarks in a post like this? Having full status members that you know and have explored with was probably your biggest ally to gaining said membership. I'm sure it's frustrating seeing cool spots increase security but it's most likely gonna happen to most sites eventually. It's pretty well documented on this site as to what is expected to become a full member and it's not unreasonable at all. Roll with the punches, be a positive presence and it will all fall into place.

Honestly man, full membership isn't a life changing experience or keys to the city. The only thing that really changes is (most) people take you seriously and are generally less skeptical. But in order to get that it, you need to get people to take you seriously and you need to come at it with a positive attitude. This is a great community and network if you follow guidelines and aren't a general nuisance. Most new members don't come out swinging and accusing. Be humble. Be patient. Have some sense. That's it.

I think that everything productive that could be said about Suadensky95's situation has been said. So I'm locking this thread. If necessary, the mods will take further action.
