Actually, if you’re driving far to get there anyway, only about another hour and a half from there you can ride some trolleys. Next door to that is another attraction that may be closed, but fun and more photo opps.

I gotta endorse the Rockhill Trolley Museum too. That place is seriously sweet if you like old trains and trolleys. $8 gets you unlimited rides and their trolleys are sweet.

Don't get me wrong, a bunch of rusting PCC cars in the woods is cool, but I can just ride a PCC up Girard ave any day I want.

Rockhill Trolley Museum is where it is at.

1771 is from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania's Port Authority Transit (PATransit).
3252 (and other cream & dark green cars with left side center doors amd a big T) are from Boston, Massachusetts' Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (the "T").
The cream and dark maroon car is from SouthEastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority's Red Arrow or Suburban Division in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania's Western suburbs. It was built in 1949 for the Philadelphia Suburban Transportation Company (Red Arrow Lines) in a set numbered 11 through 24.
The red, white, and blue cars are from SouthEastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority's City Division in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They were built in 1945 for Kansas City Public Service and later sold to the Philadelphia Transportation Company.

There are Internet sites with more historical information and contact details for the owner. The trolleys are for sale, especially for rebuilding purposes like those on Rte. 15 Girard Ave. in Philadelphia.

Is this a good place to practice my tagging?

Are you talking about the one where only the front left is visible in one of the photos? You can't see much. That's a bullet car? Such a unique rail line.

No, the car in the photo is a St. Louis car, last used on the Media and Sharon Hill trolley lines. The Bullet cars were built in 1931 by Brill for the Philadelphia & Western Rwy.

Ah, yes. Whenever I hear "red arrow" I instantly think of NHSL and the great bullets.



What I wouldn't give to ride one again, while it's running on Express service. Those things could boogie yet remain smooth. One of a kind rail line for sure.
