| | | Posted by RedBush Looking into the Farmington location, security doesn't look all that tight - on the outside, you've just got a barbed wire fence, and having never heard of the place prior to this post, I can't begin to guess as to what it's got going on within. The property seems to be in the process of figuring out who among our nation's great bureaucracies wants to claim it, but the most recent article I've found so far is from 2013. Apparently the county sheriff's department occasionally uses it for training and MNDOT has an active radio tower on the grounds, so it's not like the place is completely abandoned. I dunno. Venture at your own risk/discretion?
| The whole place was cleaned up and refurbished back in the 2008-2010-ish timeframe, so while it IS cool, it won't have the history you might be hoping for. It was bought by a guy with more money than sense (at the time) to be used for Military/LE Training. The community was hell bent on preventing him from ever making a profit on it, though, so it all went to fuck.
| I'm a "Leave only footprints, take only pornography" kind of guy, myself. |
