A classic Belgian explore, now sadly everything has been demolished except the villa with it's crazy cave bar.

Once a sculptor lived and worked here until he passed away and the house and workshops became abandoned.

I visited first during my freezing cold early Spring week of explores a couple of years ago, and then during a scorchingly hot July weekender with a larger group. A very interesting, uniquely Belgian kind of explore. Alongside the bowling alley built into the base of a windmill, why would you not expect someone to sculpt a room of their house into a plasterwork cave?

When I say I'm 'clean and sober', it means I've showered and I'm headed to the liquor store.

Cool Find! Reminds me a bit of the thread i did on the Art Teacher. These guys were remarkably cool and very creative. They made things that made them happy and not according to the so-called norn. Love the cave room, dried paints, and pic 17.

Fantastic! Did you have any notion of that cave room before you went, or was this an unbiased discovery for you? I can only imagine your awe if the latter was true. I really like the slow progression of time illustrated by those sagging shelves.

2 and 7! What a unique location with the sculpted room. I've never seen anything like that. And those bending shelves... A+ Thanks for sharing!

Sadly we knew about the room beforehand but nothing compared to seeing it in person! It makes me wonder what the first explorer to discover it must have thought when they walked into the room. I kind of hope it gets saved by whoever buys the house but I doubt it will as it's not to everyone's tastes.
