Urbex dreams (and possible Deja-vu?)

I had an urbex dream MONTHS back, which I'm posting now because I don't often have dreams I remember, much less ones that are coherent, at least that I can remember. I am saying this here because I know some dreams can lead to deja vu, and maybe I dreamed up a location that actually exists.

Anyways, we were in a city type area. The location in question is a church, which prior to being abandoned had been converted into a large, fanciful home. The area around where the confession booth was had been converted into a bracket shaped bar, on a 45* angle near the entry. There was still many bottles there, I think even one of those candy machines that worked on quarters. The pews were still there, and the place where prayers were said was fully in tact (Not religious, so I don't know all the names, sorry!) I think the organ was oddly in place across from the entry door. Either that, or it was a relocated confession box. Anyways, to the left of the entry door was a typical door frame, behind which was a hallway. The first door on the right was a living room type area, with a dusty old TV (90's or so?) and a sofa, a shelf or so atop it, and perhaps books or stuffed toys?

For reference;

From the central area;

Sadly that's all I can remember. Other than that the church was made of stone I believe? generally grey in color. Not sure why this dream sticks out. Anyone have anything similar?

(Weird topic, but hey.)

I always have exploring dreams, usually at industrial type locations.
Most times, everyone i know, both explorers and non-explorers are there, and the dreams are always super vivid.
Also, they sometimes include zombies or enemies of sorts, attacking us for whatever reason. I think i smoke too much.

When I've had exploring-related dreams (which happens somewhat often), it's usually been after I've spent a lot of time researching a particular location. For example, in preparation for a trip to an asylum a few months back, I put lots of effort into planning and I ended up dreaming that it was right across the street from my house (now wouldn't that be nice). I've also had them the night before/after explores, which makes sense.

I've found that if I have a specific concern about a location (no POE, aggressive security, exceedingly crappy weather, etc.), these concerns will often leak into the dream as "reality", making my dream-self quite disappointed. My subconscious must be really pessimistic .

Oddly enough, I had a dream two nights ago in which I was exploring an airplane graveyard and managed to find a plane with a ladder underneath which led up inside. Although, it might have been an airshow and not an airplane graveyard. Could be related to me thinking about my future plans to hit up a 747 graveyard but I hadn't really been thinking about that recently.

Interesting topic nonetheless!

Ive dreamed up a lot of abandoned and underground locations that felt like they could be real. Usually as soon as I realise its a dream I set up my camera and start documenting everything so therell be some record when I wake up. Doesnt seem to work.

My urbex dreams tend to go one of two ways.

1. It's a huge, completely unrestricted area and I get lots of awesome pictures that I can't wait to look at later. Usually there's a lot of other people walking around though, and I'm immensely disappointed when I wake up.

2. There's heavy security, and the entire dream is spent trying to get close to the site. I wake up when I'm finally at the entrance.

I'm sure that I've had several dreams about urbex, but I can only remember one. All I remember about it is that a Canadian member of this site was visiting and he and I were trying to get into an abandoned mental hospital, but there were a few people around, including my mom, who for some odd reason was sitting in a lawn chair and looking at the building. The other explorer and I never got into the building because the dream somehow changed location and we ended up in a modified version of my church.

For some reason, I seem to have an easier time remembering dreams that members of this site show up in.

I've only had one exploring dream so far. In it I was climbing a construction crane (which I've never done before in reality) with someone who seemed like a good friend in the dream, but was not someone I know in real life. We made it to the top, and my partner went to sit down on a railing or something like that. Somehow he missed the railing and slipped right over the side, not even screaming as he plummeted to the ground. I remember looking over the side but being unable to see where he had landed, somehow idiotically thinking "Maybe he's OK..."

Then I woke up. I've decided to put off climbing cranes for a while, and if I ever do, I'll probably go alone for the first time. I'm not really one of those people who believes their dreams are prophetic, but this one was really vivid and kind of spooked me out.

I've only had one urbex-themed dream, but it was recurring and out of fear. Last April, my friends and I were exploring an abandoned mall. It was well kept up, had only one (avoidable) alarm, and was generally pretty massive. There was always the threat of accidentally running into security, but we knew when they showed up for the day, so for quite a few hours it was literally just us. But near the end, we unexpectedly walked into his patrol station in what used to be a former store. I freaked the fuck out and our group was torn on staying and hiding out, or leaving.

Things ended up fine for us, but at least twice a month for three months, I'd have a reoccurring dream of feeling tense, paranoid and petrified of running into the security guard. It was so weird. It played like a fucking record, because from start to finish, each dream was the exact same in every aspect.

I have urbex-esque (try saying that three times fast) dreams from time to time. Mostly it's abandoned urban environments superimposed over an MC Escher architecture - lots of looping rooms, impossible hallways, and bigger-on-the-inside scenarios. The theme of the dreams is almost always searching, rather than straight exploration; I don't know exactly what it is I'm looking for, but it almost always involves exploring industrial tunnels as they go down.

YES. I also have a lot of exploring dreams involving zombies and I also probably smoke too much. We should hang out.

Okay, sorry about the resurrection, but I had another dream, I don't recall when, probably a month or two back, but i remember it somewhat vividly.

So,me and a couple friends, don't know who exactly, maybe people i've went with before, went into an abandoned version of a pump station, you know, big municipal ones? Steam powered or something. Anyways, the thing is, I remember quite a bit...

First, we got in, to our left, in the main room was almost nothing but a catwalk on the opposite side of the room, a little further in to our right, was a door that lead to a sort of half-basement area which was somewhat small but had some valves or something. Figuring we'd fuck around as you might expect, we'd turn some valves for fun.... but that's where everything went wrong. See, at that point the machines somehow started back up down in that area, and you have to remember that this place was DARK.

Now i don't recall exactly what happened, but i think most of us ran out, but one guy left down there didn't show. we went back and the place was flooded with this, dirty ass water. We knew it would either flood completely, or poison everyone's water, so we debated on going back to turn it off. I, and i think someone else ran in to look for the guy. I don't think we found him, but something, monster or something, was preventing me from turning the valve off, or it was so deep underwater by that point it would have to be swam to, and from then on it was difficult.

I don't recall exactly how the dream ended, but i think we never saw the guy that went missing, however we did manage to shut down the pump station.

so let that be a lesson to you all! Check for gauges, and if they're at all pressurized, DON'T TOUCH THEM!

I've had loads of dreams involving exploring, some weirder than others and some really normal. My most memorable exploring dream was about some kind of foundry in France which my mind dreamed up. Big industrial facility which I identified as one anyway. The place was inside a huge dome which was totally pitch black, and as I shone my torch around the place I saw that there was an entire ecosystem inside the dome growing amongst the structures - trees, plants, birds and other animals flying around, and it was raining 'indoors'.

I keep having dreams where my camera is either not functioning properly, or I've left the SD card in the side of my laptop. I rarely have dreams, so these are kinda like "nightmares" to me. One thing most of them have in common is that I'm rooftopping in a city I'm unfamiliar with.

This was years ago, but I had a dream before of a familiar place (actually in my own house), and there was this hidden room off to the side that in real life didn't exist, but behind there is all this stuff (old stereo equipment and recording equipment and other trinkets of the past) and I so vividly remember all the cobwebs and dust that covered it all and remembering my excitement of finding something that hadn't been seen in years and years. Only to awake and realize it wasn't there...

Makes you wonder where our minds come up with this stuff, and if maybe they are trying to tell us something.

Everyone dreams, it's peoples differing ability to recall them which leads people to believe they don't dream. Usually you can only remember a dream if you wake up whilst in the middle of it.

I see what you mean, but how do we genuinely know this? Sure, I dream sometimes, but I've gone years without recalling or remembering a dream, even being woken up abruptly
