damn!

When I say I'm 'clean and sober', it means I've showered and I'm headed to the liquor store.

Not only are your pictures great, but your story telling is too.

I've seen one location like this. It wasn't as interesting and was soon after demolished, but we did learn a lot about it over the winter. The house is on a now empty plot on Trafalgar, just north of dundas. Next to the old oakpark veterinary, with the garage behind it once having been Custom heating and air conditioning, a business. The house was owned by a Zlatko Frank Kovacevic, who we could not find any record of no matter how hard we looked. Our only records were cards and things we found. There was a bunch of neat things over there too, including a 1942 stamped military ration container, essentially a giant thermos. A service telephone (two gator clips on a handset with a mini dial in it's head) and a surprisingly thriving terrarium containing a cactus and a few other small plants. Despite being abandoned an entire year prior to our visit, the plant was still alive.

In addition to this there was a copy of Vazduhoplovstva Technika, a book on the physics of aircraft that included diagrams of many warplanes. It was my first more major explore, and I still have the photos on my flickr; https://www.flickr.../72157650145943909

This was when I had just started using my camera, didn't have a good flash and knew nothing about WB, so my images were kinda crap. That, and due to the shorter winter battery life I didn't have as much time. The repair shop and the hospital are in two other albums, but this is relevant to the topic.

Just wish we could have learned more about the guy.

Every building and site has a story, and they are often of mistakes. Learn from them before they are gone forever.
