Body of missing woman found by ghost hunters at abandoned hospital

VICKSBURG, MS (Mississippi News Now) - The body of 69-year-old Sharon Wilson, the woman who went missing from Drummond Street in Vicksburg, has been found.

Her body was found by ghost hunters on Sunday at the abandoned Kuhn Hospital on Martin Luther King Boulevard.

She had suffered trauma to the head. Her body has been sent to the crime lab and her death is being investigated as a homicide.

Two men are in custody in connection to the case.

33-year-old Rafeal McCloud and 20-year-old Akeem McCloud were arrested after a traffic stop in Leland after discovering the car they were driving was stolen from Wilson.

Police also found a stolen weapon in the vehicle.

Rafeal has been transported back to Vicksburg and Akeem could be sent back today.

That was my first thought.

How much of a failure at ghost-hunting can you be, finding an actual dead body instead of a ghost? Now if only there were an empire of Dead Body Hunters TV shows out there...

Wonder of this will factor in to the future of Kuhn... I really enjoyed my visit. Hope they dont use this as fuel for demolition

If not demolition, definitely expect to see more securing of the facility.

Imagine being a ghost hunter or like one of the cheesy ones from the Travel Channel making your way through the hospital asking questions and doing spooky shit then finding that body. I would fling myself out the nearest window and maybe pee myself a little bit.

But in all seriousness, I hope she gets the justice she deserves. That's crazy and I'm glad the people ghost hunting didn't get hurt, it sounds like the opening to American Horror Story season 2. That's just crazy.

Woman's body found at vacant Emerson school in Gary 2 hours ago • Times Staff GARY | A woman was found dead inside the former Emerson school building in Gary Tuesday night and the coroner's office ruled the woman's death a homicide. Gary police were called at 7:19 p.m. to the school building at 716 E. 7th Ave. by a concerned citizen who reported seeing someone in the building. Officers arrived and found a black woman lying face down with what they described as "minor trauma to her body." The Lake County Coroner's office had yet to identify the woman Wednesday morning. The coroner's office ruled the woman's death a homicide. A full autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday. Gary police said the woman had multiple tattoos, including one on her left bicep reading "gorgeous" and a bird on her thigh. She also had tattoos of a cupcake, a name on her right forearm and the word "love" with flowers on her right abdomen, police said. The woman was wearing a gold necklace with a charm with the word "coco" on it as well." Gary police Sgt. Thomas Decanter said the Lake County Metro Homicide Unit is investigating and officers are following up on leads. No one was in custody in connection with the case early Wednesday. Police are asking anyone with information about the crime or who may be able to identify the victim to call the Lake County Metro Homicide Unit at (219) 755-3851.

I read this article. She suffered a fatal head trauma and the ghost hunters indicated there was enough blood to leave a trail through part of the hospital. However, at least when I came across the story, it was believed that she was kidnapped off site in her own (stolen) car by these two suspects. At least one of them was related or intimate in some way - I want to say one of them was a brother, but I'm not certain of that relationship. Anyways, it sounded like a post-homicide body dump, or more likely, a kidnapping and then homicide at the hospital (I'm no detective, but enough blood to leave a trail long enough to follow might indicate a "fresh" kill)... At least the ghost hunters came forward to report it. They walked into the sheriff's office and said they knew they weren't supposed to be there (in the structure), but they needed to report the discovery of the woman. It almost seems like, if I do this long enough and explore enough abandoned locations, there is a very real chance that I could encounter something similar. I certainly hope not, but I know quite a few that have. This article was definitely a reminder of that possibility.
