Hello everyone, this is my first thread, so don't hesitate to tell me if I did anything wrong ! I also hope that I'm posting on the right forum, and please excuse my english

Here are some pictures of a place I visited when I was in Seattle. It's not exactly in the city but nearby.

Those greenhouses were built in 1888 and used to grow flowers. There are 59 greenhouses on a 23 acres property. There were active until 1989 when they closed because of the increasing price of gas.
The current owner is trying to reconstruct them but it's very slow. Some of them are used as artist lofts but most are still unused and accessible.
Because of the vegetation, we can't here any cars driving and you can feel like you are in some apocalyptic movie, were all mankind has been destroyed !

Nice one! All that green must look strange to folks in other parts.

Only in Washington could it be warm and wet enough year round to make turning a greenhouse into a loft plausible. Though the more I think about it, the more I begin to like the idea. Lovely pictures and great find!

Thats really sweet.

I've been and explored seattle a couple times and if I was able to visit this at some point it would probably end up being on of my favorites. I kind of have a thing for nature taking over industrial persay

Correct. We don't get greens like that down here in Texas. Gorgeous.
