| | | I recently got a new DSLR and I'm going to post a couple pictures for critiques and tips. Or anything that I haven't noticed that I should fix. I have a Canon Rebel T5 with the 18-55mm lens that they come with and a 50mm f/1.8. And therein, as the bard would tell us, lies the rub.

| | | Good call on the "Nifty Fifty"! I have one, my mentor has one, mostly everyone has one. They're small, light, reliable and great for all-round work. Try exploring with ONLY the 50 and see what kind of images you come back with. It will force you to think differently instead of just zooming to get the composition you want. Also, I suggest shooting raw and playing with the levels later, just a bit. You can get some sweet detail that JPG just can't provide. Enjoy the new cam!
Edit: Also with shots 1 & 2, don't cut off part of anything (object, person, idea, line, shape) unless it's intentional. Frame it in or out, or know WHY you're cutting part of it off. The first one, for instance, is a little weird-feeling because you've cut off part of this metal contraption and the location at which you put the edges of the frame doesn't add to the photo. Hope that makes sense ;)
