Made something from nothing here. It was about 1am, this warehouse had zero lights inside.

Thank you! I certainly did! It was somewhere in the ballpark of 50 exposures, stacked in post so I could mask out the figure of me holding the light.

Thanks d0dg3r! A friend of mine accompanied me on the explore, but he sat off to the side for over an hour while I shot this. I'd consider showing the different exposures and how they stack if people are interested.

Very nice. I like the when light painting is done like this. Complex yet natural looking. What did you use to light with? Was the lighting from below also you? I think that really sets it off.

I'm glad you find it natural-looking! Yeah there were a few levels to it, so I set the camera going and headed down the stairwell behind the camera to the visible level and the level beneath that to light from below. Each one is a full power burst from an SB-900 speedlight; I overheated three lights doing this (I brought three identical lights and rotated out).
