Hi there!
My name's Erika and I'm 24. I'm new to the site, but have been a longtime abandoned lover. I have an un-healthy obsession actually.. Anyway I really want to film a documentary involving other urban explorers. My goal is to grasp the motivation and passion behind this type of exploring. I live in Portsmouth, NH, so anyone local or willing to travel, I'd love to interview you.

Hi Erika, there's an introduction thread in the Rookies section if you wanted to make an introduction. I'm only new here too but in my experience, most explorers are actually quite against documentaries of this nature as it doesn't do any favours for hobby. It usually leads to places getting trashed and/or locked up.

The people you'll get are the usual attention whores. It is much harder to get close to the real high quality people because they will not welcome the attention. Sort of a catch-22. Might be a good idea to check out the 237 "edgy" video docs already available for viewing. I know I'm being a buzzkill, just injecting a little skepticism which can be healthy.

My intention wasn't to bring attention to any specific locations. Only to show the passion and what drives urban explorers. Mainly an interview-type documentary. It's so interesting listening to different views on the subject.

Attention whores are welcome, as long as they're being real about their feelings lol Thank You for your answers, guys. I'm really happy to be apart of this forum!

Honestly, I don't have any other professional video work, but I do take a lot of pictures and like to think I have a good eye

I am not far from where you are, but I don't have too much to offer interviewing-wise, I don't think.

@Macgruder Great documentary. A lot of familiar places and familiar faces. This actually hearkens to a simpler less dramatic moment in exploration history. Glad it was recorded and shared.
