Aurora night
Colleague from work checked some rooftops and invited me to explore, that's really cool

Am i in paradise yet? by Telefontubbie, on Flickr

Abandoned skiing resort in Sauleskalns, Latvia. Building is in a very poor condition. Although the building lies in the middle of nowhere, it's more demolished than abandoned sanatoriums and hotels in area where i live.

and later i met forest guard there by Telefontubbie, on Flickr

Climbing tower in Daugavpils, Latvia. I have climbed this before in 2011. Funny thing is that there was a fireguard at the top of tower He wasn't happy about my visit but when i explained i want to take some photos, he allowed me to stay on platforms and take photos as long as i want.

This factory is half-abandoned, most of part of it stays empty. I was about to explore it's rooftop that evening but a friend who went there few days ago said it's not a good idea because guard out there is really pissed of such visitors.
But anyway, i have explored it's basement and rooftop in year 2010 and 2011

abandoned dairy in Malpils, Latvia. Very cool place in countryside. Near there's old tunnel and rusty milk pots.

Few weeks ago i traveled approx 200 km away. This was unexpected finding - abandoned school in a small village where are 3 (!) schools and 2 of them are abandoned! Abandoned physics class:

The largest place i visited was very large diesel storage base. Originally it was built around 50's by Soviet army. It's well preserved although a lot of buildings are already collapsed. I met there a lot of forest animals. I didn't take much photos of this place because weather was cold and so on.

This is abandoned building pretty close where i live ( i could see it from my window). Now it's demolished completely. I explored this building in 2012/2013. A friend who explored this building few years earlier said that it's not a good idea to explore it because it was in a very bad condition.

Radiotehnika [RRR] by Telefontubbie, on Flickr

Once there was a large radio factory in the city where i live. It was called "Riga radio factory" [RRR]. That sign behind my friend means "RADIOTECH". Cool. Building is 13 floors tall, most of all rooms of it are empty but still interesting to explore.

Daugavpils , Valkas iela by Telefontubbie, on Flickr

Abandoned factories in Daugavpils, Latvia. Daugavpils is 2nd largest town in Latvia, a lot of industrial buildings out there. But it's very, very far away from city i live that's why i haven't explored most of places out there.

This sign says "household goods". It used to be a shop. My friend said it could be closed around year 2000, when the railway line nearby was closed for passenger trains.

This abandoned factory in Malta village is something like a part of a huge factory called VEF, which produced telephones and radio transmitters. Now it's empty and abandoned. Nothing is left out there. Recently one video producer put a funny video of exploring in this factory building, that's how i found out about this place, oh, thanks to youtube.

This is abandoned and well-preserved school in Daugavpils. Unfortunately it was totally sealed off and i couldn't find any entrance.

Classroom. During years 2008 - 2014 a lot of schools (more than 100) were closed because a lot of people moved to west-Europe to work and they took kids along. Also, a lot of people moved from villages to big cities but even that couldn't help to fill all classes in town schools.
Secondary school i graduated was also closed only one year after. But the good thing is that city council rebuilt the school and now there's police office and public library. I will definitely visit the library and i hope i'll never get in the other side of building because of trespassing, haha

IT'S YEAR 2015... by Telefontubbie, on Flickr

This is local mail station at Kraslava city, Latvia. And it's still operating.
But there's something hilarious about that white signage...
Nobody here says 'Xerox' here anymore and doesn't send Fax and nobody is using such thing as TELEGRAPH anymore these days!! Signage is like from 1995 but it's year 2015 already!! :

Hopefully you enjoyed this mashup !
