I was browsing goodreads.com, wondering if there are novels/fiction about Chernobyl theme, pretty much clueless...

And then BOOM , three books caught my attention:

The Sky Unwashed by Irene Zabytko (2000)
https://www.goodre...6.The_Sky_Unwashed

All that is solid melts into the air by Darragh McKeon (2014)
https://www.goodre...lid-melts-into-air

Wolves eat dogs by Martin Cruz Smith (2006)
https://www.goodre...50.Wolves_Eat_Dogs

Anyone had read these books? I am just wondering if these books are filled with some exploration, too.
Well, one of the books "All that is solid melts into the air" is available in my country, but the price of the book is totally insane and i'm extremely lazy to find out one particular bookstore to sniff it at least...

Here's a really good one that you can read online for free:
http://handle.dtic.mil/100.2/ADA335076

Or, this fascinating Wikipedia article is basically a Sparknotes version of it:
http://en.wikipedi...Chernobyl_disaster

It follows the individual story of each person at Chernobyl at the time of the accident.

There are a couple novels based on the STALKER game series floating around.

"Southern Comfort" and "Northern Passage". Out of print due to copyright nonsense but they can be found online. They're a fun read.

Edit: The description of "Wolves Eat Dogs" sounds somewhat similar to the basic premise of STALKER.

Recently author of "Voices of Chernobyl", Svetlana Alexievich was awarded with Nobel prize in literature. Why it is special?
1.It's rare to award writers about non-fiction works.
2.It's Chernobyl disaster witnesses who actually created the content of the book.
3.It reveals how fucked up values still exist in post-soviet countries.

I have read this book back in 2013. It will stuck in your mind for a long time, highly recommend this.

I'm really surprised that Metro 2033 hasn't been mentioned here. Sci-fi books, that are so popular they have video games based off of them.
