There were rumours that my beloved zoo was going to be demolished, and I really wanted to try one infrared series there, so I grabbed my camera stuff and jumped on my bike. Luckily the rumours were false.

Nearly got caught at the end of the day, the owner drove past me at a distance of about 3 meters. Miraculously he didn't look sideways and after standing in disbelief for a few seconds I jumped behind a building and hid until he left. Chances of being caught here are so high and I'm done with that, so this will probably be the last visit for me. Though the infrared was hard to do and didn't work out for every shot I think it's a nice farewell to this beautiful oasis!

Infrared isn't something I see very often, but these are beautiful. I love the coolness of the colors and the lighting. Neat location too, how long has it been abandoned?

Thanks, the zoo has been abandoned for about 30 years. You can find some more background info here: http://www.basdemos.com/the-zoo/

After having a pretty lousy day I looked at these photos and they were Totally Refreshing. I have always been extremely fond of infrared. They are like being in a lovely dream you wish to remain in. SOooo NICE!
