Went on a hike recently and came upon an abandoned military base. Definitely worth a revisit.

Haha, yeah it is. Sad thing is he was very old and dying. He probably strayed from his flock and isolated himself to die. Many animals do that...
We gave him what little food we had and water but he didn't seem to be able to drink.
I contacted several people the next day in case he could be helped but unfortunately nothing was done. :/

So you just stumbled upon this while out on a hike? Very cool find! The dying goat makes me a bit sad though....poor guy.

Yeah! At some point buildings appeared on the mountain up ahead and they looked lifeless to me. A friend said it was supposed to be a military base, so worst case scenario we would be held for espionage, best case scenario this.
It was a hike we wanted to do for some time now and this made it even better.

As for the goat yeah.. It is nothing new if you think about it but when you come face to face with it, it is always different.

Saw an unknown magazine laying face down in the staff room at work today that had an ad on the back cover. If was just a full-page photo of some tree leaves, but the caption read, "Photographed with Iphone 6" and was clearly just to promote the great capabilities of the new line of cell phone cameras. I feel any photo from your whole set could be substituted into the ad. Excellent shots!

The first pic is so nice and clear. I Like it a lot! The views in the distance are awesome. Poor Goat. Is it too late to call a vet?

I tried contacting several animal shelters the next day but only one was willing to do something. He was very sympathetic and eager to help (unlike the local shelters) even though the shelter was supposed to be for wild animals.
The only problem was we had to get the goat to a port and it would be shipped unaccompanied to the shelter. But we couldn't find a van or something similar to transport it, so yeah..

Also, while at the base we met three locals jogging and they said they'd ask a herder if it was his. It probably is his though and I doubt he will do anything but you never know. I am far from the location to check on it, but we were thinking of going again this week. I hope we don't find it at all.
