Damn, that sucks to see them do that. As much as I hate to lose old buildings, it is fascinating watching them come down.

Just glad we got to enjoy her when we did.
Every cool place eventually goes away.

Wow... Let's just add to how shady the entire operation is already by blocking any view of the demolition. Idiots.

How is what shady? The plastic on the fence? I've never seen it done like that before. They should have nothing to hide - why spend more money to put up the plastic.

The rest of it - there were several offers to buy the building from the city and assume full financial responsibility - the city decided to deny those proposals and use taxpayer dollars to demolish it.

There's more, but the whole deal seems shady to me. The absolute lack of transparency is weird.

So just cause 'you've' never seen it done before, assuming you are a pro and have a degree in engineering, makes you think they're hiding something? Maybe they're tired of people gathering up out front and watching the whole thing? They're not the ones who voted on what happened with the building, they're just the ones who took the job to get rid of it. If there is proof of why the plastic is up, then I will agree how it's shady.

It's probably more to keep the dust and dirt from ruining the day of those snooty dog walkers who've been demanding "that old thing" get demolished for years.

It's doing a really shitty job.

You're a true champion of this place, I'm surprised you haven't chained yourself to the building!

Great work as always!

That's the next step... Lol. Really though, there are many more people who have been doing much more, and for much longer than I've been actively volunteering. I'm really just happy I live close enough to be able to document everything.

They're moving fast, but as you can see their plastic sheeting doesn't hide much.

Preserve Greystone just held a press rally about some exciting and interesting new developments outside the Kirkbride earlier. Good news should be hitting the press soon.
