This is my first real post on EUR apart from my introduction on the rookie forum. I found an abandoned shipyard along the river near where I live while out walking around town one day and decided to check it out. It seems it was abandoned in 2012 from the calenders I found still hanging up. It's mostly been emptied out but still fun to wander around. Some of you may recognize this place as I imagine I can't have been the first person to find it.

All photos are taken with film so please forgive me if a few are a little dark. For those who may be interested, the black and white films used were Fomapan Action 400 and Kodak Tri-X 400. Colour film was Kodak Gold Ultramax 400.

Thanks Everyone!!

I went back to the shipyard a few weeks ago with my brother and took a few more pics and more fully explored the site (On the previous trip I had run out of film). It seems that part of the site is at least still semi active but perhaps just for storage as there is one warehouse with power still on and all the doors, windows and locks still intact.

Other than that the place is pretty large and feels like it would make a great film location or something (zombies come to mind!). There's 2 large accessible warehouses, one with several large halls, and one warehouse which you could probably get in but which is still locked up and sealed. There's several smaller buildings with offices, breakrooms, a first aid room. etc. And a couple of docks along with two large winches for pulling the ships up out of the river.

I hope you guys enjoy the rest of the pictures. These were taken on Kodak T-Max 400.

Sweet location. I really like the boxes in #6 of the first set and the wooden walkway in #8 of the second set.

It's not in the database, but Reduxzero wrote about these Fraser Shipyards in Outfall #1.

"Wandering through the site ... I can't imagine how anyone worked here even three years ago."

Unwittingly, I was on the site a couple months ago after dusk. The lights on in the Superior Upholstery building and all the cars around made me think I'd wandered into somebody's yard, so I left.

I went back this week and took a better look around.

I also saw the lights on the second time I was there but their doesn't seem to be anything in the upholstery building, although I believe the warehouse on the opposite side of the site is used for storage.

Just curious as to if you ran into the guy from the upholstery place. Buddy and I went and walked around and decided to confront the guy and ask if we could spend a while there and the guy was a major creep, definitely a murderer or rapist!

No, both times I was there no one was around so I wandered the whole site freely for several hours.
