As civilized people know, there were time when Finland were just part of Russia (Finland did get it's independence at 1917). Russia did afraid that Germans would try to attack, and these were built in Southern Finland to defend St. Petersburg - obviously world were small even back then, so far these are.
These were built at 1915-1917. I've know them for long time but always think that they must be dull. Now I did check some of them and what the hell; they were really nice time travel beyond almost hundred years! I did think what those soldiers and prisoner's of war did feel far, far, far from home when building these... Anyway these weren't never used, unless maybe in civil war at 1918. There were also bushes that ain't typical to Finnish forests - nice detail that did bring past closer too.

After shooting these I did continue my way bit farer. On that area there were lot trenches from same period, but there were also this house which may have even seen that time I think. I've try to catch something from it's soul many times, but not until now I think that maybe, maybe I did get something from it to that B/W photo.
