The Jardin d’Agronomie Tropicale is a park in the Vincennes forest near Paris. Basically, it used to be a human zoo that housed people from the six chunks of the French colonial empire back in the early 20th century. Each section of the zoo was made to look like the natural environment in which the inhabitants used to live. The six portions represented Madagascar, Indochine, Sudan, Congo, Tunisia and Morocco.
Pretty much all of the paths in the park are open to public use - however, most of the old buildings (I can't be sure whether they were the buildings inside of which the non-French inhabitants of the zoo slept or if they served other functions) are surrounded by short fences to keep people from entering. I believe that there is also some form of park security, although the uniformed men and women that I saw may have been security for the Institute of Economic and Social Development Studies which is connected to the park.
Here are a few shots I took while exploring the abandoned buildings inside of the park.
