It's not often I fall in love with a location but here....just wow.

I saw a couple of photos of this place on Flickr a couple of weeks before I flew out to the states and instantly knew I had to find it - a fair bit of googling later I had it's location pinpointed and I couldn't believe it was actually within a couple of hours drive of one of the places I'd be staying with my exploring buddy. To say I was pleased is an understatement!

I've explored a few mansions now, mostly on mainland Europe but this one blew them out the water in my opinion. I am not embarrassed to admit I do have a little bit of a staircase fetish and I took more photos of the stairs in here than I have done in any other location. It's such an imposing building from the outside sat right at the top of a hill overlooking a load of newly built soulless 'mini mansions', it has a real sense of presence and it had an effect on me (as if you couldn't tell from my ramblings already).

Gorgeous! I wish I could find something like that here. Someone needs to save it and turn it in to a home again!

Wow... now THAT is a mansion. Love the central fireplace when you walk in and the multi-level railing and stairwell. Abandonment pics of a house like this are actually enhanced by the floorspace emptiness.

I remember seeing photos of this place sometime over the past couple of weeks, maybe from somebody else on here?

I loved it and actually saved a couple of photos just because I enjoyed looking at this place so much. I can't blame you for having fallen in love with the location. It looks amazing.

Great photos, you shot this place well and it's nice seeing other rooms inside of it that I never seen in the last person's set.

Why is it i missed this?!? Amazing house. Wonder if anyone is going to get it and restore it. It would be a shame if they didn't. For a home this large i was surprised the kitchen wasn't much more elaborate. Great pics!
