	•• Construit en 1907 par Thomas Willson, ce fut la première usine de condensation d’acide phosphorique au monde. •Thomas Willson vient s'installer en 1907 pour poursuivre ses recherches sur les engrais chimiques. L'ingénieur qui a fais fortune grâce a ses découvertes et ses invention en électrochimie, trouve l'endroit idéal pour mener à bien l'une de ses plus audacieuse expériences. Dans cette usine il condensait l'acide phosphorique pour en faire un fertilisant au phosphate. Le surnom de "Carbide" que l'on donne a Willson vient de la technique qu'il met au point pour produire de carbure de calcium. Ce produit est inerte quand il est sec, mais une fois humecté avec de l'eau, le carbure de calcium produit de l'acétylène, un gaz très inflammable. (gaz couramment utilisé pour la soudure) Le carbure de calcium permet donc d'entreposer de l'acétylène sous une forme stable et sûre. Willson mourut en 1915. Cet hiver avec ma copine.

	Oh my god, c'est fou que j'aie jamais vu de photos de cette endroit avant. Les tiennes sont vraiment belles, c'est un des plus beaux sets que j'ai vu depuis que j'ai recommencé à browser le forum! Merci pour l'histoire de la place aussi, c'est clair que ça rajoute à l'attrait.
