Greetings!

Time has come for us to meet together again and discuss the current state of affairs in Urban Exploration. This is quite simply a meet and greet between explorers to connect with each other and discover other people in the community who are just starting out or may not be aware that there are people in Seattle area already exploring.

This is a meet and greet only, no exploring is planned (unless you want to ;): share information, tips, and tricks!

We'll be meeting at Bauhaus Coffee on Capitol Hill at 13:00 on March 28th (Saturday)!

I wish I could come! But I'll be far away. I hope it turns monthly.

Seattle is a little far for me to go to a M&G for coffee. =\
I wish I could but I'll have to pass for now. Although now I am inspired to ask about the interest in a Portland M&G

Edit: I realize that may sound snarky or something, but I might be underestimating the value of this M&G because I've never been to one. Let me know if you think it might be worth it.

Obviously I can't make it, but to chime in on the usefulness of meet and greets, I'd say they really do something positive for the local community, and they seem to have a habit of getting new and out-of-touch explorers into the swing of things.

I may be a little biased based on a meet & greet being the main reason I got into the community in the first place, but I applaud any attempt to get folks together.

Absolutely. One other point of a meet & greet is a chance to determine who is actually interested in exploring and sharing/contributing to research, and who is simply in it for the ride (e.g. "tourists"). Whatever it may be, each person is unique in their skill set and available time, and all are welcome.

I understand your points, but it's a 3 hour drive for coffee and meeting people for a few hours and no exploring afterwards. And then a three hour drive back. I'll probably just look into having one here in Ptown.

Right, hence a meet and greet. It's not a full-blown three-day event like we had before.

Excellent!

We ended up having a decent turnout, 6 people showed up and we chatted for quite a while. It was a little funny at first since a few of us (myself included) were a little leery about giving our real first names and our UER account names, but we worked it out. Thanks to everyone for the good visit, and like I said, feel free to contact me if you ever want a 2nd person along for fun or the sake of safety.

If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find him, maybe you can hire... Tunnelrunner33!

Just thought I'd pop in here and say I'm glad this has come up again. I've been to these in the past and enjoyed them. Unfortunately a lot of things were going on this day so I was unable to come. That being said, I hope there will be more of these; I've done a good bit of my own urban exploration over the years, but I often get distracted from it by every day life, but it's always lingering in the back of my mind. So I hope some more of these are forthcoming in the near future.

I joined the site just last week. If you have another meet up let me know. I and several other friends from the Seattle area would really like to attend. We've been doing this and didn't know there was a name for it let alone a group.
