Perched on an isolated peak of an ancient volcanic caldera on the island of Sao Miguel in the Azores, the Hotel Monte Palace is the skeleton of a once beautiful five-star hotel, it's design is that of a Brutalist Pagoda with grand terraces, a massive sunlit indoor court yard, and a beautiful spiral staircase the hotel commanded a view that stretched from the Atlantic Ocean to the inland twin-lagoons of Azul and Verde (named for their own respective colors).

But for all of it's beauty the hotel only seemed to operate for a couple of years before simply being abandoned.

Very much love 4, 5 and 6. 5 looks like something straight out of Unsplash, and that's a compliment.

Love your black and whites. #4 and 5 and also #8 with the sepia tones. Sad grand places like this are a thing of the past.

these shots are fantastic! I love the B&W staircase in number 4. 5 is mysterious. The mist just adds a whole other element of awesomeness to the photos. A total adventure

5 also has a bit of a film look to it, which makes it even more badass

I love the fog shots, makes it look so lonely. 1.5x multiplier for a vertical shot of a spiral staircase.
