What a way to ring in the new year. First the Titan 2B Missile base and then an incredible day of exploring up near Central City.
Myself and a friend met up with PerspectiveIMG to explore some abandoned houses around Central City, and finished up the day with one of the most incredible places I have been to.
The Glory Hole Mine
Not much is known about this mine. Chicago dentist and entrepreneur Dr. William Munchow founded this mine in the early 1900's. He discovered that the mine was more profitable for raising capital than from actual mining of gold. It is not known how much gold was mined here. Currently, the mine is owned by Chain O' Mines.

Beautiful photography man. What a site. I love the cash register and your second picture. I was in an abandoned mine town in Montana last summer for a geology class. I did not get to do any exploring sadly, but have always wanted to return to explore the area. Open mines and lots of rustic buildings. Wonderful set. Keep it up!

Every time you read this, I become more powerful.

Thank you!!
It was an incredible site. Very beautiful scenery and location as well. We went up for abandoned houses and PerspectiveIMG then surprised us with this beauty of a location. The cash register was a cool find. Wasn't expecting to find that.
Aww man! I hope you can get back to that site to explore! Mines and mining ruins are my favorite places to explore.

Thank you!
This was the largest mine/mill location I've been to so far. There are a lot of other similar locations throughout the mountains of Colorado. Makes me happy. I love abandoned mining places. =)
