LOL not every trip requires rope work. I need to get out of town some time anyway. Not feeling inspired by my local stuff and I haven't been to DFW in a while.

You know man the grass is always greener somewhere. I miss Waco the big tire plant stuff like that.

I moved from DFW to God's country lots of cactus and rattlesnakes when I explore now but Ive got my eye on some urbany goodness nearby.

I'll take west Texas over the metromess any day!

Yeah Waco has some good stuff but that's still a good two hour drive for me. Also, unfortunately General Tire had all sorts of new construction going on last time I drove by. I think it's not likely accessible anymore.

Along the same lines, I practically live across the street from one of the biggest local places but it's no longer abandoned. I guess it's not just that I'm not inspired by the local places but more that there are very few of them.

Ya know Rev having Noah Vale here was a lot of fun, we would get into active and live places just for shits and giggles, Id still do that but its not as much fun by yourself.

Maybe I can come up with something for a NTX TEXPEX or whatever the Hell we used to call it.

Yep, Noah was fun to hang out with. Went to lots of places with him. I agree that's probably another reason I'm not feeling inspired here is because it's not as fun to go by myself.

I'm usually down for meetups but I work Saturdays. I should probably be able to take time off some time though.

I recognize coffinnail. And too miss Noah Vale. He was a blast, and really s special guy to explore with. I spent a whole weekend in Houston with him and we went to a couple of our personal favorite locations at that time. I learned a lot from him about exploring that weekend.

I know he's still on here once in a while. And I'm not sure what it was about the guy, but he was just a lot of fun and really a fun person to be around. I miss those days too.

NV, if you see this and you come back to the DFW area, you best let me know so I can come up and see you!!!

NV belongs to a private board on here Rat Im sure you can figure out which one that is or message him or message me. The moderator is a straight up, hard core exploring fellow and these guys do some awe inspiring expeditions out west.

It's always interesting to me to see how some people prefer to drink while/before exploring and some consciously don't. I think it's totally up to the person doing the exploring, but personally prefer to go sober. I always think that I'll hurt myself or make too much noise or something. But to those who do choose to drink out there, good on you, I can totally see how that'd make it way more fun.

I drink like a fish...but never once thought of doing it while exploring. Mostly because I'm on a motorcycle and because I can barely remember settings when I'm sober.

I always seem to sober up a bit once I get on my bike and get in the wind.

Disclaimer: there is no physiological evidence that riding motorcycles or 70mph airflow in your face can reduce the effects of alcohol consumption
