I'll start off by saying that I'm not exactly sure what these places are called, but I know exactly what they do at them. Giant dump trucks drive in and pick up loads of sand, dirt, rocks, gravel and all sorts of earth. this one was abandoned. And Enormous.

1.

Upon entering by a long dirt road, I arrived at the truck scale. Used to measure exactly how much material the trucks were moving.

2.

This was the only building I knew of on the lot, but this was some sort of truck repair shop.

3.

I can only assume...

4.

There was substantial evidence claiming this to be true. Lol

5.

Container filled with old parts.

6.

7.

Then I found this little jewel!

8.

From what I can see, It was the cab to a large excavating machine.

9.

But why was it right here and NOT on the machine?? Lol

10.

Then...

11.

WAY off in the distance...

12.

Across a land bridge...

13.

and past some junk...

14.

Some sort of large sifting machine? Maybe to load the trucks with materials.

15.

BUT... the koolest part was all these incredible holes dug everywhere! And not only that, but filled with water that was this wonderful bluish/green color (probably infected with chemicals and being stagnant for so long. Lol.

16.

I wish I would have taken more pictures of the different water collections, but there were so many. It's kind of a beautiful sight.

17.

Just to give an idea on how big this place was, I measured it out on Google Earth, and the land is filled with those holes for over two miles! If I can get some screen shots of it, I will post in comment section!

Thanks for checkin' it out!
