Winter with snow, hooray! For a while at least, it's plus degrees again. Anyway, I'm not sure what it does but I just have to check this place at least once in winter. Somehow it works better in winter than summer, I'll think. So here we go with first (there are two locations in this post)...

Old'n Red in White:

Snow Inside:

Just... Stillness:

Blue Mattress Blues:

That Little Sauna (In Winter Wonderland):

Still Standing:

Sunshine to Cold World:

And then to this saturday morning. Aching teeth and dentist next tuesday... best way to get rid of it at least for few moments is, of course.. sex. But because there were no time to that at this morning, I did choose next best option, which of course is photographing (alcohol would work too but I save that medicine to evening).

So here we go... again. This is that axe mystery place from last autumn. At first time there were axe on floor, next time there wasn't, but both times one buildings only door to upstairs were locked. At this time it was much more relaxed: snow did tell that nobody weren't be there since latest snowing and... that upstairs door were open too. So I did spent there 1,5 hours, searching for photos and I really did enjoy it.

Saturday Morning:

Roses on the Stairs:

Chaos (Not in Theory):

Those Fine Old Days:

In the Attic:

February Silence:

Slow Falling Doors:

Striped Light:

Moment in Cowshed:

Tired Tires:

Tools to Chaos:

Chicken's Nest:

-----

...and traditional off-topic-bonus brings you small amount of winter. Off-topic-off-topic-bonus-bonus picture shows why I like to keep my equipment as cheap as possible...

Thanks for... you know... scrolling this far.

always, always enjoy your pictures.
Your style, composition and post work is genuine and unique.
I have to say though… EVERY off topic bonus pic you've posted throughout the years should be in a gallery installation.

Dont know that I'll ever make it to your part of the world but I'd love to hang out and shoot with you.

Reminds me of the last stretch of this documentary where Gaahl from Gorgoroth takes these soft-ass Vice Magazine reporters up to see the shack that his grandfather built and lived in on top of the mountain near his home in rural Norway:

God damned, mate! I'm at halfway of my second pint and then I come here... After checking one "made me smile" personal message I come here and it starts like this. This will rise urea to my head! xD Actually I must repeat my answer to that personal message things but "saturday evening couldn't get much better".

But seriously I must say that shooting with me would probably be terrible disappointment. Most of my trips I do alone, I really need that loneliness to find photos, but I've done few trips with people that have really really really want to see what I do different way. Afterwards it have shine from their faces, that "that idiot must be fooling me" look. Probably biggest magic is that I really and honestly don't know what I do differently comparing to others (I'll think that I do nothing). I just really look and when I think that there might be a photo, I'll try to catch it as good as possible. So there really ain't any magic at all.

But if you ever find your way to Finland and even more, to this dying town called Forssa, we absolutely will make some kind of photographical trip to surrounding countryside.

Really big thanks for your kind words.

What Steed said.

This is kind of dangerous game publish ANYTHING at saturday, and really dangerous it gets when I start to answer these messages while drinking; things get too easily beyond the sanity, and I will start to shit something over-philosophical... shit. So... I don't wrote anything, I just enjoy. After these (too much) words of course. (You'll see what I did mean)

Do you know from where that all and everything be born? From pure, deep and true idiotism. xD

Thanks! And happy to hear that. And good reason why people should return time after time. I've try to photograph it two times before, with much worst results. And then suddenly at third visit... it was obvious that there is photo waiting to be taken! And still I am sure there will be better one... just have to right time to find it. That is magic of photographing, and I love it.

That's awesome you got to see them in a small club! Finland certainly has its share of great metal, too! Can I get an amen on the first three Insomnium albums?! And early Swallow the Sun! It also seems like a beautiful place. I have to get there someday.

Insomnium rules! Actually we are going to see them live at next month, again; last autumn we did see them while they were warming Arch Enemy. First three albums are great, but I'll think they've get even better through the years.

Swallow the Sun have always be bit off for me, I don't know why. Not bad but... not great enough.

And you are right: Finland is beautiful place and I love this 4 totally different seasons thing here, it's so good for photographer. This probably would be worth of visiting I think. Maybe even twice, so you could see winter and summer.

Great shots! I love your composition in the photos as well as how you play with the light a bit. I think you are right that winter makes these spots pop! I hope to see more of your photos soon!

You capture everything so perfectly, you really know how to make things 'pop' and stand out. I'm really loving your photos.

Had a little chuckle at that last one, lol.

If old signs are still working, you don't have to wait too long... Only problem is that sweet snow - get your car parked is amazingly big problem in most places now. Yeah, I know, it's only excuse.

Thanks, and I'm glad that I did shoot it; I've try to catch photo from it at those two trips before too, but with no results. I still am not 100% happy of that photo, but... can you ever?

Sick pictures. I would have to say that the third one is my favorite. I love the varying shades/shadows that frame the snow covered pine trees

As always, each of your captures is like an orgasm for the eyes.
What really impresses me this time (like anyone should give a fuck WHAT I think) is your triplet of the sauna among the snow-clad trees. The contrast, sharpness, and velvety blanket of muted saturation lends these a special ethereal air of perfectly-formed fantasy where you actually once tread and probably even took a beer-piss.

Here's Finntroll at their best, not twenty minutes travel from my front door, in a concert venue here in Philadelphia.
