After this massive storm dumped at least a foot across the Midwest, I thought it would be a good time to venture out into the Iowan countryside and explore this now-collapsed homestead. I walked the mile to and mile back, nearly freezing but I think it was pretty worthwhile. The views, sky, and abandonment itself made it an awesome short trip. I explored the location with a fellow UER user: Shade-Link.

Any comments or critiques you have would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I love photos of abandonments in the snow! I tried to go shoot Sunday but ended up just getting my car stuck... Oh well, at least you got out! I bet this place might be kinda cool in the spring too.

Yeah, I took this one on foot, being worried about the quality of roads for driving. I'll definitely head back in the spring - inside the foundation I believe there's a lot of artifacts and rubble that was completely covered up by the snow.

Reminds me of a few explores I did this winter. You get the itch to go out there, but man, the snow can be cold sometimes.

Yeah, definitely. By the time I got back to my car I thought I had lost a few fingers for good. ;)
