Count me in for the meet up. I get the sense I am older than most of you, at least I can regale you with stories of growing up in a pre-9/11 era (less security, just get yelled at instead of arrested) and roaming around the DC area with all the Gov't, Civil War, Colonial Era ruins there. I'd love to find some interesting places in this part of TX to explore.

I wasn't sure if I could make it, but I will be there, along with my son. We both want to get involved, and are looking forward to meeting y'all

Fantastic, looking forward to meeting y'all!

Impfac, it'd be awesome to have you, you are totally welcome! That said, I don't want to misrepresent the aim of what we'll be going for on the first meeting. It'll mostly be eating and getting to know each other. While I wholeheartedly encourage people to get together and make plans to do stuff, the event itself won't actually involve locations or anything like that, at the very least for the first time. There is always the possibility of somebody there being up for showing you what's around, and if I can I'd be up for it myself, but time has become a rare thing indeed for me, these days. I just don't want for you to make the trip with an unclear idea of what to expect, haha.

I also doubt i will make it on a Friday night. I work 4am M-F and normally drive through Houston for work. I'll be damned if i will be driving back into Houston to sit in rush hour traffic for some pizza. Unless there is plans to explore afterwards.

Looks there will be a decent turnout for this first go-around. And I'd actually be down for exploring that night if anyone is game.

Hey everybody, since this thing is coming up this Friday, I figured I'd clarify a few things.

As far as where we're sitting, just look for the table with a flashlight or other piece of exploring gear (camera, respirator, night vision goggles, whatever's handy). If you're the first one there, go ahead and grab the biggest table and whatever UE related equipment you can and that's how we'll know that's where to go.

Also, the place is laid out kind of funny, so be sure to check the upstairs or the back. If we overflow for some reason and have to change venues, I will likely hang behind for a little while. If all else fails, you can always post on this thread, I'll try to keep an eye on it and make updates as they are necessary.

I'm super excited, can't wait to meet y'all!

Hope you can make it man. Enjoying exploring with you last time. I'd love to see your photos; you should post your set sometime. I'm eager to see the place from another's perspective.

Yep! Right up front, next to the pizza, though we may move to the upstairs tables if enough folks show up.

Congrats on a successful meeting! Maybe it'll kick us in Dallas into gear, so you don't show us up.

Thanks, RobertB! If it weren't for your Dallas meet-and-greets (and a ton of Astro's help and conversations with other members), I wouldn't even have thought to give it a shot! I think of the days in Dallas as a template to go off of, and it worked just great this time!

Now, that said, does anyone have any suggestions for a place to meet this month? I picked this last time, I want to give everybody a shot at naming a place.

Thanks again to everybody who showed up, I had an awesome time, hope y'all did, too!

Haven't put much thought into a place, but I'll be there for sure. Who will join me?
