Does the 100k image cap apply to all images posted here, or just the ones that are uploaded directly? I intend to go with flickr or imgur for hosting, and I wasn't sure if it also applies to them.

On a related note, are there any limits on resolution?

No, that only applies to the uploader here. With flickr you can use any size you want, resolution as well.

Though, I will say it's proper etiquette not to make them MASSIVE, because it will make looking at them more difficult.

Just don't make it unreasonably sized, is all I'm saying

But the resolution and size isn't restrictive when you host them elsewhere.

Usually I go for 1024 at the longest edge when posting. Seems like a happy medium imho.
