Man, you just don't see architecture like this in the states. Number two especially is breathtaking. Seconding the request for a bit of history, a place like this has to have a pretty interesting story behind it.

And...You are NOT joking...It must of smelled pretty vile in there with all that pigeon poo. Lovely ornate details on the inside with the windows and balconies. It seems a lot of attention was given to the center section and the rooms, like #6 for instance was quite plain. MOST interesting!

For those who ask for the history:

This palace was built in the 18th century and renovated in the 19th as a residence for a rich family. In the first years of 20th century it was sold to the government, who converted it into offices. The staircase remained like that but the rest of the building has pretty much nothing to see as all rooms are empty offices from the 1940s.

Nowadays it's owned by a real estate company who wants to convert it into luxury apartments but for now and since the late 90s the building is abandoned
