After studying the photo a bit more I realize now that's not the same place. It has similarities to another though. Still. An awesome find. My buddy and I found an entire farm at a country crossroad that's abandoned. It has everything, house...barn..clotheslines....old play swing...it's pretty damn sweet. I'll look into getting photos of it up here. It's probably under an hour from Appleton but we took so many back roads I don't even think I could find it again.

You're thinking of "Freming Farmstead", if i'm correct. It's off HWY 10, and is pretty much an old gutted farmhouse and a barn full of rotting hay.

I'm not allowed to see that link yet Relik, are Chuck's pics the one in the link? This is the place outside of Appleton aways I'm talking about.

http://s1380.photo...rary/lonely%20farm

Pictures do NOT do it justice. This is not the one that you can see from Hwy 10. That one has no farmhouse, just the large barn, shed, a silo...trees all around right smack dab in the ditch area between the two highways.

Those pics aren't from the link but they are from the location in the link. I just put them up here so you'd be able to see the farmstead that Relik was referring to there. I had meant to post some words with the photos to explain but I must have been too tired and forgot. Sorry about that. After checking out your photobucket link though, we are indeed talking about different spots. Yours definitely looks like it has a bit more to see.

But hey, it's really good to see that you're up there hittin' the back roads. It's nice to see another active explorer. It looks like you're doing good work up there and really committing to the hobby. Thanks for sharing your stuff.

I wish i enjoyed abandoned farmsteads more, as Wisconsin is one of the key places to live for such a thing.

I agree Relik, I really enjoy coming across them but they are not as worthwhile as finding an urban location that is relatively unknown. I barely care about collapsed barns/small sheds anymore. TOO many of those in this state. lol.

Seems like a lot of explorers are popping up in the eastern populated part of Wisconsin. Maybe it's time for a meetup. I'd love to get to know the folks that live over on the other side of my usual rural stomping grounds.

The problem with a proper meet-up is every location i plan to be part of it keeps getting torn down or is listed to get torn down soon. Damn it, Wisconsin!

Might have to settle for a less-than-epic Wisconsin meet-up.

My intro. SCOTT. Appleton, WISCONSIN. I stumbled upon this forum while doing a search for abandoned / historical sites and urban exploring in Wisconsin. I'm still in the middle of researching areas and it's interesting to say the least.

I've started a photography Project 365 this year [2015] and am hoping to do a sub-focus of abandoned sites, properties, schools and other scenery which I'm referring to as "The Beautiful Decay of Wisconsin".

Hoping to soak up as much info from all of you as possible.

nice to meet you. photographers are always sooo slow, learn to take quick shots! I also dislike people that walk around with tripods and really expensive cameras but i work mostly in urban environments with a heavy criminal/police/security presence. Cheers!

Welcome to the party! As others have said, Wisconsin can be somewhat barren when it comes to locations, but the spots we do have are definitely worth checking out.

Speaking of which, I can think of two places that are right up your alley. If you (or anyone else, really) are willing/able to come up to Green Bay shoot me a message, I'll fill you in.

Cheers!

Yeahhhh welcome dude! Loving all the Wisconsin explorers that are joining! I grew up in NEW and there is a lot of fun to be had there. Chuck and Relik have found a lot of cool shit in the area as well. People do dog Wisconsin quite a bit for some reason and I think it's because it may be a hard place to explore if you are not from the area.

Some shots from NEW:

Well, that settles it. I should definitely get my hands on a car and make my way up there one of these weekends. Great photos, Relux. Thanks for sharing.
